I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to get some of the pictures up on the site as promised. I won't bore you with my excuses. Thanks to Chuck Norcutt for the photos that are posted. I hope to get more up as soon as the Winter Semester is over. Chuck has volunteered to send a larger copy of a photo if you will give send him  the  first 8 characters of the image file name.   Some are IMG_nnnn.jpg and  others are SAM_nnnn.jpeg. They also have an "e" or "ec" or "er"  appended at the end but that is not needed for identification.  It will also find it faster if you tell him it was at the rally, the bbq & game or the banquet. Chuck's email is chucknorcutt@chucknorcutt.com. You can find the photos by hitting the tab labeled ' Reunion Photos '

The photos are in 800 x 600 format so you can right click the photo, download it to your computer and then have it printed .

I will try to get the photos taken in front of the cars as soon as can. Please be patient!

MINUTES January 21, 2010
AMAT’61 REUNION COMMITTEE

Present: Corinne Hartmann, Larry Hartmann, Chuck Sorcabal, Len Troncale

Most of the discussion consisted of our sharing memories of our school days from elementary thru high school including stories about our children and grandchildren and updates on our friends not present. Despite this, we did manage to make a few agreements:

  1. We determined from past testimony of Amat alumni to not use a company like GreatReunions.com.
  2. We will do all the organizing, deciding and doing ourselves.
  3. We agreed to focus first on exploring the possibility of and organizing the conventional weekend celebration including a dinner, a function at Amat, and a picnic or day function.
  4. Dates of the weekend of October 22nd and April 9th (2011) were suggested for discussion, and to use in planning.
  5. Larry and Corrine agreed to meet with Amat officials to determine when Homecoming would occur, if they would provide facilities for us, how the dates suggested would fit with their schedules.
  6. Chuck Sorcabal agreed to build the shell of a dedicated Amat'61 Website so there would be one place for all alumni to go to help plan the reunion and find immediate updates on how planning was progressing. It could also be used for them to communicate with each other.
  7. Chuck has already completed this task and we will release the URL when it is further tested by the committee and has items of interest on it; we are seeking suggestions on what alumni want it to do.
  8. Len agreed to continue trying to update the communications spreadsheet for the class of '61. He needs everyones help on this.
  9. Others accepted the task of exploring use of various venues for the dinner in the local area.
  10. Len agreed to check out the possibility of using the Kellogg West Conference Center at California State Polytechnic University (hereafter CalPoly) for the dinner-dance.
  11. Len has completed this task and has about a dozen pages of specifics, estimates, and draft contracts for the committee to discuss at the next meeting.
  12. The next Reunion Committee meeting has been set: lunch on Saturday, Mar 13th.
  13. Len suggests we hold it at Kellogg-West in the President's Conference room (~$12 per person) because on that day a wedding is scheduled; we can see how the rooms we would use look decorated & test out the chef at the same time. We could also arrange to see the 89 hillside hotel rooms available for out of state alumni.
  14. We are looking for a volunteer to act as secretary to do minutes, comm., etc.

Respectfully submitted by Len Troncale. RSVP to Len for next meeting.
