Announcements

1/26/2012

I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to get some of the pictures up on the site as promised. I won't bore you with my excuses. Thanks to Chuck Norcutt for the photos that are posted. I hope to get more up as soon as the Winter Semester is over. Chuck has volunteered to send a larger copy of a photo if you will give send him  the  first 8 characters of the image file name.   Some are IMG_nnnn.jpg and  others are SAM_nnnn.jpeg. They also have an "e" or "ec" or "er"  appended at the end but that is not needed for identification.  It will also find it faster if you tell him it was at the rally, the bbq & game or the banquet. Chuck's email is chucknorcutt@chucknorcutt.com. You can find the photos by hitting the tab labeled ' Reunion Photos '

The photos are in 800 x 600 format so you can right click the photo, download it to your computer and then have it printed .

I will try to get the photos taken in front of the cars as soon as can. Please be patient!

Treasurer’s Report was presented by Corinne Hartmann.

Disbursements to date:  $714.59

            Cash on hand:  $4945.67

47 people have sent in the entire $100 for the Reunion.

14 people have sent in the $25 deposit

        Total is 61

Total reservations for rooms at the Kellogg Conference Center now stand at 16.

Budget update for the Reunion:

There are budgets for both 120 and 80 people attending.

At least eleven (11) alums have responded positively but have not yet sent in any money.

Bishop Amat has reserved a table for ten (10) for $500.  We expect eight (8) to attend.  Many of the Bishop Amat Guests are actually on our Guest List, so this part of the budget may be in part or in whole covered by Amat.  Larry Hartmann will get the list of Amat sponsored Guests and compile with the list of Guests the committee has decided to invite.

Communication with Classmates:

Bishop Amat Alumni Office has offered to attempt an independent outreach to the 1961 graduates to help with our alum outreach efforts.  They will attempt to get email addresses and phone numbers, and we will follow through to as many Classmates as possible.

Website:

Chuck Sorcabal will put the Form for Classmates to respond with information about their lives since Amat on the website.  He will try to set it up so that alums can fill out the form online and just submit it instead of mailing the completed Form. We will accept Information from Classmates up to the day of the Reunion.  However, since the “Memory Book” will go to press on 2 October 2011, those who wait to the last minute to respond will miss being in the book.  All Classmates should send in their “life” information, whether coming to the Reunion or not.  It will be included in the Book.  The Reunion Book will be kept on the website for a year after the Reunion.  The Committee voted to pay the $100 fee to keep the website for the extra year.

Reunion PowerPoint Presentation:

Larry Hartmann will coordinate putting together the pictures for the looped PowerPoint show at the Reunion.  Everyone is asked to submit pictures.  Hal Tilbury has submitted several.  Many will be taken from the Tusitala.

Decorations Planning:

Pattianne Parker will communicate with Alice Powers and Marilyn McGloin to assess progress by this committee.

Memory Book and Historical Pictures:

Larrry Hartmann reported Amat has agreed to print the Memory Book.  They also have a company to digitize the Yearbook.  Classmates are again requested to submit a current photo.  Len Troncale will help with inputting photos, data, etc. and will scan the Tusitala for historical slides for the slide show.  Larry Hartmann will check on the availability of a projector screen at the Conference Center.  He will also get a photo of Joel Sabel for the Memorial page.

The Committee has decided there will be no charge for the CD that will hold the historical and information submitted by Classmates.  In addition, the CD of photos from the Reunion will be available to all who attended at no charge.  Hal Tilbury will have the CD’s burned at his offices.  The mailing charges will be part of the Reunion’s final budget.

Historical Pictures and Slides for the Slideshow:

The pictures classmates submit will be scanned and digitized.  The pictures will be both historical and current.  They will be run through on a loop at the Reunion for classmates to enjoy

The pictures will be put on a CD which will be available for sale either at the Reunion or by mail to those who cannot attend the Reunion.  Hal Tilbury will burn the CD’s at his company offices.

Amat Foundation Gift:

Hal Tilbury brought a copy of the Gift Pledge Form.  The form will be included in the last mailer and may be put up on the website.  Bishop Amat has pledged a match of $25,000.  We have already raised $8500.  Donations will be used for students who need help with tuition.  All donations are tax deductible.  Hal will also set up a table at the Reunion for a 50/50 Raffle with half the proceeds going to winners and half to the Gift Fund.
