Announcements

1/26/2012

I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to get some of the pictures up on the site as promised. I won't bore you with my excuses. Thanks to Chuck Norcutt for the photos that are posted. I hope to get more up as soon as the Winter Semester is over. Chuck has volunteered to send a larger copy of a photo if you will give send him  the  first 8 characters of the image file name.   Some are IMG_nnnn.jpg and  others are SAM_nnnn.jpeg. They also have an "e" or "ec" or "er"  appended at the end but that is not needed for identification.  It will also find it faster if you tell him it was at the rally, the bbq & game or the banquet. Chuck's email is chucknorcutt@chucknorcutt.com. You can find the photos by hitting the tab labeled ' Reunion Photos '

The photos are in 800 x 600 format so you can right click the photo, download it to your computer and then have it printed .

I will try to get the photos taken in front of the cars as soon as can. Please be patient!

Class of 1961 Reunion Committee Meeting

Kellogg West Conference Center

Minutes of Saturday, 27 August 2011  8:30 am

Those Present:  Larry Hartmann, Corinne Maschio Hartmann, Marilyn Heglin McGlone, Pattiannne Nagle Parker, Chuck Sorcabal, Len Troncale, Hal Tilbury

Meeting called to order at 9:15 am by Len Troncale.

Minutes of the meeting of 10 June 2011 were approved as amended.  The postcard mailer was printed by Larry Hurst and mailed by Corinne Hartmann

Minutes of the meeting of 13 August 2011 were approved as emailed.

Treasurer’s Report was presented by Corinne Hartmann.

            Receipts to date:  $5140.26

Disbursements to date:  $714.59

            Cash on hand:  $4425.67

43 people have sent in the entire $100 for the Reunion.

14 people have sent in the $25 deposit

Total is 57.  Of these, 36 are alums of Class of 1961.

Budget update for the Event:

There are budgets for both 120 and 80 people attending.

Several alums have responded positively but have not yet sent in any money.  We will go over the need for a ”Plan B” for the budget, expenditures, and options at the next meeting.

Communication with Classmates:

The postcard mailer went out and several came back as undeliverable.  Only one person responded at all to the mailer.  Chuck Sorcabal will purge the contact list of the “Undeliverables.”

Many more people have visited the website than have reserved for the Reunion, so the next email and the focus of outreach will be to the people that have made some contact.  It is important to have a firm commitment and the money from the attendees by no later than 10 October 2011.  However, since the “Memory Book” may go to press before that date, those who wait to the last minute to respond may miss being in the book.

Total reservations for rooms at the Kellogg Conference Center still stand at 15.

Decorations Planning:

Alice Powers cannot be at Saturday meetings.  Marilyn McGlone will join the Decorations Committee and will act as liaison for Alice and report on progress at the next meeting.

Memory Book by Larry Hartmann:

Larry will develop a form for classmates to send back information on themselves to be included in the Book.  It will be in an email format which can be filled in online and sent back.  This will

be easier for both the classmates and Larry.  This form will be emailed to all of the classmates for whom we have an email address.  A copy of the form will also be put on our website.  A copy of the form will be sent to those who have made contact but have no email address.

There will be a Memorial Page in the Book listing those classmates who have died.  It will also contain a remembrance prayer.

The Book will also contain some pictures from the Tusitalia and some current pictures that have been collected.

Historical Pictures and Slides for the Slideshow:

The pictures that classmates submit will be scanned and digitized.  The pictures will be both historical and current.  They will be run through on a loop at the Reunion for classmates to enjoy

The pictures will be put on a CD which will be available for sale either at the Reunion or by mail to those who wish to purchase them but cannot attend the Reunion.  Hal Tilbury will burn the CD’s at his company offices.

Pictures will be taken at the Reunion and put on another disk and mailed.  This price for each disk will be $10.

Len Troncale will put up a History Table for classmates to enjoy some of the items from our Class years, including copies of the Tusitalia.

Music:

Larry Hartmann has engaged the DJ.  He will do background music from the 50’s and 60’s.

Amat Foundation Gift:

Hal Tilbury has set up a bank account and will develop and print a Pledge Form.  The form will be included in the last mailer and may be put up on the website.  Bishop Amat has pledged a match of $25,000.  We have already raised $6500.  Donations will be used for students who need help with tuition.  All donations are tax deductible.

New Business:

Special Guests will have personal invitations sent to them and a follow-up phone contact.  There are seven Special Guests.  Chuck Sorcabal will contact the men, Pattianne Parker the women.

The following people have volunteered to contact classmates who have contacted us but who have not committed to attend the Reunion:
